Piedmont Fayette Hospital's breastfeeding and lactation services provide new mothers and their babies with the care and instruction they need to get breastfeeding off to a good start. As a breastfeeding friendly institution, we wll make every effort to prepare and assist the new mother in the early days and weeks of feeding her new infant. The staff consists of International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC's) and lactation supportive RN's. We also support mom's on-going efforts to continue breastfeeding, especially if she is returning to employment outside of the home. A "Breastfeeding Basics" discussion group meets the second Saturday of every month. This class is held in the Ground Flood, Dietary Conference Room, enter the hospital through the West Entrance and take the gold elevators to the ground floor.
