At Piedmont Fayette Hospital, we pride ourselves in delivering quality and innovative care to all members of the Fayette community. This personalized care extends throughout all our departments. The physicians and nurses on staff in the Emergency Department work together to create a personal treatment plan based on your individual needs.
After the emergency room physician has evaluated your symptoms and diagnosed your condition, he or she may determine that you need to be admitted to Piedmont Fayette Hospital’s acute nursing unit or intensive care unit for advanced treatment and care.
If the physician has treated your condition in the emergency room, you can return home and begin to recover. When you are released from the ED, the staff will give you comprehensive follow-up instructions, which include the name of the emergency physician who treated you, your diagnosis (if possible), the name of the physician to whom you will be referred to for follow-up care, and specific instructions for caring for your injury or illness at home.
To help you recover as quickly as possible, it’s important that you follow-up with a specialist or with your primary care physician as directed.
