At Piedmont Fayette Hospital, your heart is important to us. We provide comprehensive cardiopulmonary services, including cardiology, electroencephalogram (EEG) and other noninvasive diagnostic testing, pulmonary function and respiratory care.
Our highly trained staff, including cardiologists, cardiac nurses and respiratory therapists, offer innovative heart care - in and out of the hospital. During each shift, respiratory therapists are dedicated to a small number of patients in specific units in the hospital. Additionally, a respiratory therapist is always on call for emergency care and consultation.
Early detection and diagnosis are the most critical tools in fighting heart disease. In conjunction with the Diagnostic Department, the Cardiopulmonary Services department offers breakthrough technology for noninvasive diagnostic testing. These advanced tests allow your doctor to monitor how your heart functions when you exercise and when you are at rest. Depending on your test results, your physician might recommend treatments that can help prevent or reverse heart disease.
To properly prepare for these highly precise tests, you should plan to arrive at the hospital at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment. Remember to bring your doctor’s orders with you.
